Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course. Live-online sessions. Starts January 13th, 2025

This live online course offers a gentle, structured space to explore how you meet stress, difficulty, and everyday life. Over 8 Tuesday evenings, we come together as a small group to practise mindfulness, reflect, and learn simple, evidence‑informed ways of responding more kindly to ourselves and our experience.

Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anyone who:

Feels stressed, or “always on the go”

Would like a regular, guided space to pause and reconnect

Is curious about mindfulness and would prefer a live, interactive course rather than an app

Is willing to attend most of the 8 sessions and try simple practices between sessions
No previous experience of mindfulness is needed.
What we explore together
Each week includes:

Guided mindfulness practices (such as body scan, breath awareness, and gentle movement)

Time for reflection and optional sharing

Short teaching on topics such as the stress response, thoughts and emotions, and self‑compassion

Simple home practice suggestions to explore between sessions
Over the 8 weeks we gradually explore:

Stepping out of autopilot and into awareness

Working with the body and breath as anchors

Understanding how stress shows up in the mind and body

Relating differently to thoughts and emotions

Developing a kinder, more compassionate inner voice

Bringing mindfulness into everyday life and relationships
About the facilitator
The course is facilitated by Jilly Edmundson, founder of The Holistic Coach House. Jilly holds a BSc in Complementary Therapies and Health Sciences and an MSc in Psychology, and delivers mindfulness training informed by Jon Kabat‑Zinn’s Mindfulness‑Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) framework. Jilly is currently undertaking a PhD on stress management interventions, exploring how evidence‑informed approaches can support people working under sustained pressure.
Practicalities

Sessions are held live on Zoom. You will need a quiet space, a stable internet connection, and ideally a device with camera and microphone.

This course is a group mindfulness training and is not a substitute for individual therapy. If you are currently in crisis or under specialist mental health care, please contact me before booking so we can consider together whether this is the right time for you.

A certificate of attendance will be awarded upon completion (must at least 7/ 8 sessions attendance to receive the certificate).
CPD Points: 18 hours (this is added on the the certificate)
This course can also qualify for the foundational requirement for Mindfulness Teacher Training. Usually after completion, one is expected to continue with their mindfulness practice for about a year, before progressing on to teacher training.
Sessions are held on Thursday 6:15 PM- 8:30 PM, GMT. There will be a 15 minute break in each session.
On completion of the course, a certificate of attendance will be awarded (16 CPD points). There is some 'self-work' to carry out in your own time between sessions, but this really has to fit in with you, rather than a prescriptive amount of set homework. It is suggested a daily practice of at least 5 minutes and up to what you are able to do.
