What if you could meet life differently?

So much of life can be spent rushing from one thing to the next – thinking, planning, doing, worrying and reacting – often without noticing how little time we spend simply being present.

Coming Home to Yourself is an eight-week live online mindfulness programme offering an opportunity to step out of automatic pilot and develop a more conscious, compassionate relationship with yourself and your everyday experience.

Over eight weeks, we will explore mindfulness through guided meditation, awareness practices, mindful movement, discussion, reflection and home practice.

Rather than trying to empty the mind or escape life's difficulties, you will learn to notice thoughts, emotions and physical sensations with greater awareness – creating space between what happens and how you respond.

The programme draws upon the mindfulness framework pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the principles and practices of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), while being taught as an accessible programme for everyday life.

No previous experience of mindfulness or meditation is necessary.

The Eight-Week Journey

Each week builds upon the previous session, gradually developing your understanding and personal mindfulness practice.

Week 1 — Arriving

Wednesday 28 October

Stepping out of automatic pilot and beginning to experience the present moment more fully.

We will explore what mindfulness actually means and begin developing the ability to pause, notice and simply be with our experience.

Week 2 — Awareness

Wednesday 4 November

Developing greater awareness of thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.

We begin to recognise how quickly the mind interprets experience and explore what happens when we learn to observe rather than immediately react.

Week 3 — Being with the Body

Wednesday 11 November

Coming out of the busy thinking mind and reconnecting with the body.

Through practices including the body scan and mindful movement, we explore the body as an anchor to present-moment awareness.

Week 4 — Responding Rather Than Reacting

Wednesday 18 November

Understanding our habitual responses to stress.

We explore how mindfulness can create a pause between an experience and our reaction to it – giving us greater awareness and choice in how we respond.

Week 5 — Meeting Difficulty

Wednesday 25 November

Learning to turn towards challenging experiences with greater awareness.

Rather than automatically avoiding or struggling against discomfort, we explore ways of meeting difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences differently.

Week 6 — Self-Compassion

Wednesday 2 December

Exploring the way we relate to ourselves.

Mindfulness invites us not only to become more aware, but also to notice judgement, self-criticism and expectations – and to explore a kinder, more compassionate response.

Week 7 — Connection

Wednesday 9 December

Bringing mindfulness into our relationships and communication.

We explore listening, speaking and connecting with others with greater awareness, while noticing our own habitual patterns within relationships.

Week 8 — Coming Home

Wednesday 16 December

Bringing everything together.

Our final weekly session focuses on integrating mindfulness into everyday life and developing a sustainable personal practice beyond the course.

The intention is not to become permanently calm or to live without difficulty, but to develop a different way of meeting whatever life brings.

Coming Home: Online Mindfulness Retreat

Sunday 10 January 2027 | 1pm–6pm | Live Online

Optional and included in your course fee

Following the Christmas and New Year period, you will be invited to return for an extended afternoon of mindfulness practice.

The retreat provides an opportunity to reconnect with the practices explored during the programme and experience a longer period of supported mindfulness and silence.

The afternoon will include a combination of guided sitting meditation, body awareness, mindful movement, walking meditation, periods of discussion, silence and reflection.

There is no obligation to attend, but it offers a valuable opportunity to deepen and consolidate your practice after completing the eight weekly sessions.

What Is Included?

Your £175 course fee includes:

  • Eight live online mindfulness sessions of two hours each

  • Up to 16 hours of weekly live teaching

  • Optional five-hour online mindfulness retreat

  • Guided mindfulness practices to use between sessions

  • Course materials and weekly home practices

  • Opportunities for reflection, discussion and questions

  • Support in developing your own sustainable mindfulness practice

  • Audio recordings of the meditations

With the optional retreat, the programme provides up to 21 hours of live guided mindfulness teaching and practice.

Who Is This Course For?

Coming Home to Yourself may be particularly suitable if you would like to:

  • develop a regular mindfulness or meditation practice

  • become more aware of habitual patterns of thinking and reacting

  • find new ways of responding to everyday stress and pressure

  • become more present in your everyday life

  • develop greater self-awareness and self-compassion

  • explore mindfulness within a supportive group

  • reconnect with yourself and create more space in a busy life

You do not need to be experienced in meditation, good at sitting still, particularly flexible or able to “clear your mind”.

You simply need a willingness to explore.

Home Practice

Mindfulness is experiential – we learn it primarily through practising it.

You will therefore be encouraged to practise mindfulness between the weekly sessions using the guided practices and materials provided.

The intention isn't to perform perfectly or add another demanding task to your life. Home practice provides an opportunity to explore what happens when mindfulness gradually becomes part of everyday living.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous mindfulness or meditation experience?

No. The programme is suitable for people who are new to mindfulness as well as those wishing to reconnect with or deepen an existing practice.

Do I have to attend the January retreat?

No. The online retreat is entirely optional and is included in the course fee.

What happens if I miss a session?

Because this is a progressive eight-week programme, attending the live sessions wherever possible is encouraged. Course materials and relevant practices will help you continue your learning between sessions.

How much time will I need between sessions?

You will be encouraged to establish a regular home mindfulness practice. We will explore this gradually throughout the programme and discuss practical ways of incorporating mindfulness into everyday life.

Is mindfulness a religion?

No. Mindfulness practices have historical roots in contemplative traditions, including Buddhism, but the programme is taught in a secular and accessible way. No particular religious or spiritual belief is required.

Will mindfulness get rid of my stress?

The aim of mindfulness isn't to eliminate all stress or ensure that we always feel calm. Instead, mindfulness can help us become more aware of our experiences and habitual reactions, giving us an opportunity to relate and respond to life's challenges differently.

Sometimes coming home isn't about a place.

It is about pausing long enough to notice where you are.

To reconnect with your body.

To notice your thoughts without becoming completely caught up in them.

To meet yourself with a little more kindness.

And perhaps to discover that beneath all the thinking, planning, rushing and doing, there is another way of being.

Come Home to Yourself.

Eight weeks. One evening a week. A different way of meeting everyday life.
